With Ben Simmons not reporting to training camp and having cut ties with the organization, the Philadelphia 76ers are likely to finally deal the star. The Golden State Warriors are a team continually linked to the guard.

Golden State would have to include either one of their Big 3 or Andrew Wiggins to make the money work. Wiggins is owed over $31.5 million after being given a max-value deal by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2017.

The Golden State Warriors are one of the team’s most linked to a possible Ben Simmons trade. However, it’s pretty unlikely to actually come to fruition.

The cost for Simmons prior to the draft was four first-round picks, James Wiseman and Wiggins. That was never going to happen. The Sixers, for any team that’s interested, are going to have to reduce that sky-high value.

Simmons is a three-time All-Star guard, and he was a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year. However, his value was originally demolished by his inability to shoot late in the Sixers playoff series with Atlanta, even passing on a wide-open dunk.

From there, everything has been downhill for the relationship between the Sixers and Simmons. That said, while a trade is likely, one that involves the Warriors seems unlikely. Let’s dive into why that is.
