Why Warriors won’t trade for Ben Simmons: Value

The Sixers have the renowned Daryl Morey leading their front office now. That’s bad news for the Golden State Warriors. General manager Bob Myers, in his career with the Dubs, has done well with trades.

Many of them have involved just trading veterans like Willie Cauley-Stein and Glenn Robinson. He did pull off the Andrew Wiggins blockbuster that added the former No. 1 pick and sent D’Angelo Russell to Minnesota.

The price for Simmons is going to have to come down to a range in which the Warriors get some bang for their buck. I would say two future first-round picks and Wiggins is the least that would even come close.

Kuminga or Wiseman is going to have to be the starting point, but with Drummond and Joel Embiid, the Sixers shouldn’t want Wiseman unless a third team is involved. T

hat makes a trade much more difficult as it seems like Moses Moody and Kuminga are valuable prospects in the eyes of management. Given that it’d start with Kuminga, the Warriors may already be out of the discussion.

Simmons has drastically reduced his value, and the Warriors will need to get on board with a trade that doesn’t involve too many picks or prospects before anything is even considered.
