The sooner this situation regarding Andrew Wiggins and the COVID-19 vaccine, the better this season will be for the Golden State Warriors.

The Golden State Warriors do not have much time to waste in handling a highly sensitive dilemma regarding Andrew Wiggins and his reluctance to get vaxxed.

Wiggins has become just one of a few different NBA players to refuse the COVID-19 vaccine as of late. With teams looking to pack the stands once again — restrictions are coming down and certain players are not fond of the mandates.

Names like Jonathan Isaac and Kyrie Irving have reportedly taken anti-vax stances according to Rolling Stone. As for Wiggins, his request for religious exemption was denied by the league this week. This comes after the Warriors have apparently been trying to convince Wiggins to get vaccinated for weeks to no avail.

Regardless of your position on the vaccine — this is problematic for the Warriors as Wiggins will not be able to play in home games this season unless he receives the vaccine.

Last season, Wiggins emerged as one of the Dubs’ unsung heroes. He had arguably the best season of his career and his 3-and-D contributions will be needed throughout the year as Klay Thompson finishes his recovery.

Not having Wiggins for half of the schedule would be backbreaking. Furthermore, it would be a massive disappointment to fans and the Dubs themselves if Wiggins is unable to compete alongside them after everything.

It is unclear what the Warriors will have to do in order to resolve this issue but it is obvious how damaging this dilemma could be if it goes unsolved. For the benefit of both Wiggins and the Warriors, let us hope a solution is agreed upon that will satisfy everybody.
