4 Golden State Warriors most likely to relapse this coming season
Golden State Warriors player most likely to relapse: Jordan Poole
The Golden State Warriors are getting Damion Lee back. Mychal Mulder should have a role in the backcourt. Klay Thompson is going to hopefully return, and the Warriors may sign a backup point guard.
Combine it all, along with his usual slow starts to the season, and seeing a minor relapse in his play wouldn’t be shocking. Poole was one of the only players to improve following the team’s 15-win season.
He went from averaging just under nine points per game to 12 points per game. That’s a solid increase, and while it’s not impossible, Poole going up to 15 points per game doesn’t seem likely with all the competition he’ll have at the two.
Poole’s efficiency should also be a concern. If he can’t take another step in the right direction, potentially hitting over 44 percent of his shots, the Warriors may want to reconsider if he’s a better fit than players like Mulder and Lee.
