Poole Party

In March, Poole started to bear the fruits of his labor. After a brief stint in the G-League bubble, Poole re-joined the team, and, this time, snatched his opportunity with both hands.

The Warriors had a middle-of-the-road 19-18 record when Poole returned. Defenses were setting out to double team Curry since they didn’t see anyone else on the floor as an offensive threat. Poole changed that

Golden State was in desperate need of a secondary playmaker, someone capable of creating their own shot, anyone able to help shoulder the offensive load that Curry was almost singlehandedly carrying.

Poole offered that spark.

His confidence, craftiness, and ability to get to the rim were the diversion and the spark that the middling Warriors needed. Poole ended up averaging 22.3 points per 36 minutes in his sophomore year and put up a career-high 38 points in the penultimate game of the regular season.
