Jordan Poole can impact winning

The Warriors should have confidence in Poole elevating his game to even greater heights next season. The next stage in his development is working on getting his three-point efficiency closer to 40 percent.

That, and demonstrating that he has the talent and stamina to produce consistency across an 82-game season and hopefully the playoffs.

The play-in tournament showcased that Jordan Poole is built for the big occasion. Against Memphis, he drained multiple clutch shots and was the most reliable offensive threat outside of Curry.

Against the Lakers, he possessed the confidence to try a dunk on LeBron James. It didn’t come off, unfortunately, but the sheer audacity of the attempt showed that Poole is not one to shy away from the moment.

Come playoff time, the Warriors will need players that don’t fold when the lights are a little brighter and palms get a little sweatier.

Poole has set himself up for a breakout third season. Whether he’s a starter filling the void left by a rehabbing Thompson until Christmas, or a permanent 6th man coming off the bench, Poole will have a significant role to play this season.

The Warriors will soon have their core guys back. So far, they haven’t swung the ax on a trade for a fourth star; but maybe they don’t have to if somebody already on the roster can step up to the plate.

It may well be that Jordan Poole is the key in determining how far the Warriors will go this season.
