Golden State Warriors storylines: What role will the young guns have?

The Golden State Warriors have multiple young prospects. If they play up to their potential, the Warriors will easily make the playoffs.

Guard Jordan Poole and center James Wiseman could both step into valuable roles in the rotation. Wiseman needs to be a much better defender this season, and with him having bulked up, there’s potential he can start to handle his own in the paint.

For Poole, it’s about becoming more consistent, having averaged 12 points per game last season but shooting just 43 percent from the field.

The Warriors will also have Moody and Kuminga who could play impactful roles. Both players averaged over 14 points per game in the summer league. Moody is the more polished player, but Kuminga also has an ultra-high ceiling and could be a perfect small-ball four.

The role that those four players will have is certainly something to keep an eye on. It may be more of a hot-handed approach as Poole and Wiseman both had stretches of play in which they were contributing at a high level.

With the number of veterans Golden State brought in, they won’t be depending on any individual prospect, but the young guns playing up to their potential would be a huge help.
