Warriors potentially regretful move: Not adding a point guard

The Golden State Warriors had ample opportunity to sign a point guard. They really just have Stephen Curry on the roster with potentially Jordan Poole sliding over behind him if need be, but even Poole is more a score-first shooting guard.

The Dubs also have Damion Lee, Mychal Mulder, Klay Thompson, and rookie Moses Moody at the two. They passed on NBA-ready Chris Duarte in the draft, a move that could be considered a mistake.

However, there’s still that one roster spot, and it’s more than likely going to be filled by Avery Bradley, another shooting guard. We saw the team target Brad Wanamaker last season. That didn’t work out as he was traded prior to the deadline to Charlotte.

They haven’t filled that void, and with Nico Mannion overseas, there isn’t much depth behind the aging two-time MVP. That needs to change before the season commences, or there could be drastic consequences if anything happens to Curry.

Even in the 15 minutes Curry isn’t in the game, without a floor general, the team could be lost. They may look to thrust Draymond Green or Iguodala into that role for the second unit.
