Golden State Warriors free agent target: Darren Collison

Darren Collison is retired, and he didn’t originally retire because of his declining play. Collison wanted to focus on other matters in life, and after a workout with the Warriors, he may be looking to re-enter the league.

However, he clearly didn’t impress too much as the Warriors haven’t signed him to a contract. There’s no denying that the numbers say he’d be a stellar addition. Collison is a floor general, and on top of being a great distributor, he’s a terrific three-point shooter.

The 34-year-old Collison played in the NBA for a decade, spending the bulk of his time with the Pacers. During that ten-year career, he shot at least 40 percent from deep in half of them.

He led the league in three-point shooting efficiency at 46.8 percent during the 2017-2018 season. For an undersized point guard, Collison shooting over 47 percent in six seasons is equally as impressive. His efficiency is something the Dubs must consider.

He also averaged double figures in each of his ten seasons. It was a successful career, and if he comes back, it would make sense for Golden State to target him.
