The Golden State Warriors kicked off one of their most anticipated seasons in franchise history with a win against the Portland Trail Blazers.

With the preseason being more important than ever due to numerous roster changes and an influx of young talent, the Warriors looked to get off on the right foot.

The Golden State Warriors shined in their preseason opener versus the Portland Trail Blazers. Here are three takeaways.

One thing was clear early on, the Warriors want to play at a faster pace this year. They jacked up 69 total 3-pointers in this game. For comparison, 54 was the most 3-pointers they attempted in a single game last season. This was in part due to a new lineup full of high-IQ players who routinely made the right pass and kept the ball zipping along the perimeter.

The Dubs have a long journey ahead of them if they wish to reach the playoffs again for the first time since 2019. It all begins here, in the preseason, where valuable lessons can be learned and crucial team chemistry can form.

Before we look too far ahead, let us analyze what we learned from game one. Here are three takeaways from the Warriors’ first preseason outing.
