Pristine Warriors guard Stephen Curry will not take it easy

All things considered, the preseason game was all about Damian Lillard vs. Stephen Curry, two bucket machines with the ability to stack up the stat sheets, and yet the Warriors’ mainstay played more minutes than Lillard.

Curry had six points less than Lillard. He played around 19 minutes when compared to the Portland star’s 18.

But it was all there — the intensity, the game IQ, the free-flowing buckets, and operating their offensive maneuvers effectively. Curry did get put on a highlight reel for his attempt to draw a foul which wasn’t called, but he played a complete game that went relatively unnoticed.

Much of this stems from the fact that Klay Thompson will take his time before playing substantial minutes for the Warriors. Expect Curry to put in maybe a couple of minutes more as the season goes full steam.

Curry was the league’s scoring champion last season, and he could very well be the MVP for the third time this season.
