Golden State Warriors will get an upgrade in January

The first few months of the season were expected to be bumpy for the Golden State Warriors. Introducing a flurry of new names to the lineup as well as gradually inserting the rookies is going to be a challenge. At least, we thought.

With how quickly the vets have managed to make themselves comfortable, it looks like the Warriors (barring any injuries) will be able to rely heavily on an experienced rotation rather than tossing the rooks into the fire too soon.

This means they can already be playing winning basketball by the time James Wiseman returns to the lineup — and reach maximum velocity when Klay Thompson is ready for takeoff.

This late surge in the second half of the season could mean trouble for the rest of the league. Allotting proper time for Thompson to reintegrate his way into stardom after nearly 1,000 days of basketball would still leave the Warriors with enough time to finish the year with a bang.

All of the early progress the team can make now will help them be that much better when they are at full strength in the future. Few teams in the NBA will be getting a major upgrade in the form of Thompson midway through the season like Golden State — they better take advantage of it.
