Golden State Warriors’ player that’s impressed: Moses Moody

Poole and Porter Jr. were both expected to play high-impact roles for the Warriors. No. 14 overall pick Moses Moody doesn’t quite have that same pressure on him. However, Moody’s played very well in the preseason.

Against the Lakers, he was given just ten minutes but scored ten points. Moody stands 6-foot-5 and has a 7-foot-1 wingspan. If he can show competence, his frame could get him minutes. The Warriors don’t have a ton of oversized guards.

Having averaged over 16 points per game in a brief stint at the Las Vegas Summer League, Moody has proven that he can play well, but doing it in summer league and then preseason doesn’t mean his success will continue.

Moody did have 9 scoreless minutes against Portland and then had 6 points in 11 minutes against the Nuggets. During those three games, he’s shot 56 percent from the field and 71 percent from deep. His efficiency has impressed.

In limited minutes, he’s showing he can score and play within this offense. If he can continue that as the preseason winds down, there’s no reason he won’t get spotty minutes to open the regular season.
