Can James Wiseman redeem himself?

James Wiseman is entering his sophomore season with much to prove. Of the surprisingly strong 2020 NBA Draft class — Wiseman is just one of the few prospects who have been a disappointment thus far.

He did not have much control over his rookie season. Limited experience in college and a month’s difference between being drafted by the Golden State Warriors and making his NBA debut put him in a rough position.

It is no secret Wiseman was lost during his first year with the Dubs. And, the team looked better without him, rattling off their best stretch of the season shortly after his torn meniscus.

Nevertheless, spirits are high for Wiseman as he begins his second campaign. Steve Kerr has stated the sophomore looks more confident and is sharing more of his personality with the team — all good signs.

"“He’s doing really well, I think James is really kind of coming out of his shell. You can really see the maturity, he’s speaking up in meetings, feels much more confident, I can see it, and then the drill work he is doing, he is really picking things up quickly.” Steve Kerr on James Wiseman via NBC Sports Bay Area"

A little bit of confidence can go a long way for a young center. Taking it one step at a time and fulfilling his destiny as a rim-runner for Golden State will allow Wiseman to become a fantastic player.
