Golden State Warriors player ready to break out: Jordan Poole

Having scored 30 and 28 in preseason games, Jordan Poole is already flashing breakout potential.

Whether he can sustain that is still up in the air, but if there’s one player ready to take the NBA by storm, it’s Poole. Poole’s rookie season was that forgettable 15-win year which Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combined for five games.

As many on the team did, Poole struggled, especially as a first-year, score-first guard. However, his second year, he started to come around, increasing his scoring by about 30 percent.

Poole also topped 40 percent from the field which seemed unthinkable after his rough rookie season. Stints in the G-League for both seasons helped spark his confidence. That shouldn’t be necessary this season as Poole may have it figured out.

If flashes from the preseason help showcase anything, it’s that Poole is the real deal. That said, hopefully he can come alongside Curry and be that reliable second scorer that is desperately needed. There should be high hope Poole can do just that.
