Golden State Warriors player ready to break out: Otto Porter Jr.

As with Andrew Wiggins, Otto Porter Jr. may not reach career-high levels in a year that could go down as one of his best. A former top-three pick, Porter Jr. signed with the Warriors for the veteran’s minimum.

So far this preseason, he’s certainly showcased what he’s capable of.

Through three games, Porter Jr. has hit 58.8 percent of his attempts from deep, nailing 3.3 threes per game. Yes, I understand it’s just preseason, but it’s enough to get excited about what he could contribute, especially having shot over 40 percent from deep on his career.

If he can top even 42 percent from deep this season, as he has done in past years, he’ll earn a consistent role in the rotation, something he’s likely already shown enough to have.

Porter Jr. may not reach career-high levels in points or rebounds, but the impact he has can finally be for a contender. That contribution and his shooting splits could make this season the best of his career.
