Why Warriors’ Wiseman, Poole can break out: Experience, size

While there’s no detail on if Jordan Poole has bulked up or not, James Wiseman has, and it should be noticeable when he hits the court.

Wiseman is a 7 footer and often times struggled last season as his body just wasn’t at the level it needed to be to compete with veterans. Wiseman should be looking more dominant with the greater size. One thing that goes hand-in-hand with him bulking up is experience.

Having been in the league two seasons, Poole will enter his third with the knowledge of when to shoot and when to get to the bucket.

He came around last season, topping 43 percent from the field. That felt like an impossible average after his rookie season. Poole went from 8.8 points to 12 points per game and improved both his shooting and playmaking in his second season.

As for Wiseman, experience should help him on the defensive end of the court, averaging 3.1 fouls per game in under two quarters of action. That’s just unacceptable and something that should change the more he plays at the highest level in basketball.

Having been in the league more than a year or two will aid both players as they enter the new season.
