Golden State Warriors’ player likely to regress: Juan Toscano-Anderson

It’s tough to gauge what Juan Toscano-Anderson will contribute this season mainly because of where the Warriors’ offseason additions will play.

Bjelica won’t impact JTA’s minutes much, but the other two, former Warriors great Iguodala and Porter Jr., both will. Kuminga, when he’s healthy, will also steal minutes from JTA if he gets in the rotation.

While it’s tough to believe that someone could be a better shooter than JTA, especially as the young defensive-minded player topped 40 percent from deep last season, Porter Jr. is. That could be a problem for the team’s backup power forward.

JTA didn’t average many points, notching 5.7 points per game. He was also at 20.9 minutes per game, which is where I see the most regression coming. It’s not necessarily anything JTA has done, but more so what Golden State did this offseason.

It’d be shocking to see the former Mexican league MVP doing better than his current averages. Porter Jr. and Iguodala may consequently boot JTA from the rotation. We’ll see what Steve Kerr opts to do, but it wouldn’t be shocking if JTA can’t be the player he was a season ago.
