Warriors opening prediction: Jordan Poole continues to breakout

Jordan Poole is going to be the Warriors’ second-best scorer until Klay Thompson returns. While no one is set to call him the second coming of Stephen Curry, Poole is looking destined to make a run for the Most Improved Player award.

He averaged 12 points per game in 19.4 minutes per game last season. With his increased use, Poole could near 28 minutes per game, and with that, he could easily see over himself topping 16 points on a nightly basis.

Poole averaged 21.8 points per game during the team’s five preseason games.

They went undefeated in the preseason with Poole and Curry leading the way. If the Warriors are going to be a top threat in the West, they’ll need a player other than Curry and Andrew Wiggins, who isn’t in ideal shape, to score regularly.

Poole will likely draw Wayne Ellington as his first matchup of the season, and he should be able to cook the veteran sharpshooter. That said, Poole breaking into stardom should commence on Tuesday.
