The Warriors and their 3-point shooting against the Lakers

It wasn’t just the preseason wins that had experts talking about the Warriors; it was the volume of 3-pointers they made in the preseason. They shot 266 of them and landed 92 in the bottom of the net, the most by any of the teams in the preseason.

Now, they might not be accounted for when they suit up against the Lakers, but the doesn’t mean they won’t stop. And their 3-pointers will make all the difference against a side that has perennially suffered from those booming buckets in the last two seasons.

Curry isn’t the only one who’s got the ability to land those 3s. Their latest poster boy, Jordan Poole, and Otto Porter Jr. averaged over 3 in the 3-pointers section.

Nemanja Bjelica just adds that extra firepower nailing 44.4 percent of his 3-point attempts in the games he’s played so far. Overall, Kerr’s men made 34.6 percent of its shots beyond the arc.

And while on Curry, the 33-year-old is on the cusp of making history again as he chases Ray Allen’s all-time record of 2,973 3-pointers made. He’s on 2,832, and if there is another stellar season in the offing, expect him to vault Allen.

The Warriors have enough options to dunk those 3s, and it shouldn’t come as a surprise if they shoot as many as they can at Staples. And all of this without Klay Thompson, a man with this own penchant for those smooth splashes.
