Jordan Poole’s litmus test of staying consistent begins

Jordan Poole was the breakout star for the Warriors in the preseason. His mantra was quite simple: If open, then take the shot, and take he did as he averaged 21.8 points in 22.7 minutes by the game in the preseason.

The approach was fearless, the game awareness was high, the playbook was well understood and his playmaking ability has seen a stark improvement. Poole, 22, had quite the emergence and the test would stay consistent.

Kerr had stressed that Poole was improving by the game and also placed emphasis on his defense. According to The Mercury News, he spoke about helping the young gun maintain his aggressive approach.

"“What we’re trying to help Jordan with right now is we want him to maintain his aggressiveness, but we want him to hit singles instead of swing for home runs,” said Kerr. “That’s the key to Jordan’s development. He has the ability to go by people constantly, which is great. Now it’s a matter of fine-tuning the decision-making. … We’re thrilled with how coachable he is and how much he’s absorbing.”"
