The Golden State Warriors took their talent down south to take on the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers are one year removed from winning the NBA Finals while the Warriors have won three of the last seven NBA Championships. These are two historic franchises.

With a rejuvenated Lakers roster that featured former Golden State Warriors guard Kent Bazemore and former MVP Russell Westbrook along with Carmelo Anthony, this was always going to be a difficult game.

The Golden State Warriors went into Staples Center and came out with a victory despite being underdogs against the LeBron James-led Los Angeles Lakers.

The Warriors went to halftime down 59-53.

They were down just a few points for the bulk of the first half, so this six-point deficit was one of the larger ones for Golden State. Despite being down larger amounts of the third, the Warriors 9-1 run to cap off the quarter put them in place to make a fourth-quarter run, down just two.

The bench mob continued to destroy, eventually helping the team win the fourth quarter by 9 and the game by 7. There were several key takeaways from this one, and with that in mind, let’s dive into who won and who lost from opening night.
