With the Golden State Warriors securing a 121-114 win the season opener of NBA 2021-22 against the Los Angeles Lakers, the latter will have to wait another season to win their opening night ever since LeBron James joined their ranks.

If there was one point where the side buried Los Angeles, it was in the fourth quarter with five seconds on the shot clock and 2:43 remaining. There was a flurry of passes as Stephen Curry passed it to Draymond Green, who saw Nemanja Bjelica running towards the rim even as LeBron James raced to defend him.

From accurate passing to setting screens to perfection, the Warriors did their homework in their opening night win against the Los Angeles Lakers

There was a sleek pass from Bjelica to Wiggins who was all set behind the arc and all he wanted was the ball. He got it, he had the shot, and he sunk one as the Warriors went 112 to 115 while the Lakers at 103 could only watch with slumped shoulders.

Stephen Curry didn’t have the kind of night he usually does. He was 2-8 with his 3s and 5-21 with his field goals, but it didn’t matter. He found that switch to contributing across the board with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists — A triple-double.

Jordan Poole continued his rich vein of form to land 20 points with two rebounds and three assists. The bench, which we recommended to be observed didn’t disappoint with Damion Lee (15 PTS), Bjelica (15 PTS), and Andre Iguodala (12 PTS) playing their parts in securing the first win of the season.

But it was more than their fast scoring and the offensive plays. The basics saw them get the better of LeBron James (34 pts) and Anthony Davis (33 pts) who kept the Lakers in the hunt till the final minutes of the fourth quarter.

Here are three things the Warriors did right.
