Stephen Curry will set the 3-point record this season

It takes a historic season to win the NBA MVP award. In a year where Stephen Curry is ready to set an all-time record, he should be crowned MVP, as well.

We all knew it would happen one day. From the moment Curry first set the single-season record for 3-pointers in 2013 (a record he would break a few more times over the years) every fan of the NBA understood that eventually, Curry would become the all-time leader.

It is true, by January, Curry will likely have made more NBA 3-pointers than any other player, ever. Only Ray Allen stands ahead of him with 2,973 career makes. Curry is rapidly approaching at 2,846 makes, just 127 behind Allen.

At his current rate, Curry will have the record in 27 games. This means he could become the league leader before the new year.

The ultimate combination of efficiency and volume has made Curry the undisputed greatest shooter of all time. It is only fitting he wins the MVP award the same season he finally takes his seat on the throne.
