Stephen Curry did not shoot the ball efficiently outside of their game against the Los Angeles Clippers, however his all around play and 3-0 record was enough, including his first triple double since 2016 on opening night.

Averaging 31.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game, it seems that Curry has made it an emphasis to help rebound the ball more. He’s also done well since being awarded this honor, continuing to make big-time plays against both Memphis and Sacramento.

Stephen Curry was named Western Conference Player of the Week for his performance during the impressive 3-0 start for the Golden State Warriors.

This is Curry’s 17th time winning the honor of player of the week. Also, shoutout to Grizzlies guard Ja Morant, who put up fantastic numbers in the opening week but finished with a 2-1 record which gave Curry the edge.

Let’s hope Curry continues to rebound the ball while scoring at a high rate and we could be looking at Steph’s 3rd MVP season. While it’s far too early to start considering MVP candidates, Curry is looking like one.

This honor, while it’s been one consistently given to the star guard, isn’t an easy one for players to come back. Curry, despite the Warriors finally losing their first game to the Grizzlies, still dropped more than 35 points.

While at least some were likely expecting the Warriors to be a fringe playoff, they’ve proven otherwise. With contributions from several of the five players they added this offseason, the Warriors have been much better than expected.

With a home stretch full of hopefully easy games over the next few weeks, the Dubs should be able to stay at the top of the West. They’ve shown enough to, at the very least, command the respect throughout the rest of the NBA.
