Golden State Warriors player set to shatter expectations: Gary Payton II

Gary Payton II and Avery Bradley were battling for the last spot on the roster. With both being waived, it appeared neither had won the job.

However, the team brought back Payton II, and he’s actually been a great addition so far this season. Now, he’s certainly going to be a player that gets minutes throughout the season. Whether that continues into the postseason is far more debatable.

For now, he’s been playing very well. Payton is averaging 2.7 points per game. While that doesn’t seem impressive, he’s yet to miss a three. He’s also shooting above 60 percent from the field.

While he’s only 6-for-9 from the field, Payton II has been consistently a solid option while in the game. That’s what will keep Kerr continuing to call his number with the Dubs needing backcourt players to fill in their bench.
