Golden State Warriors v Chicago Bulls: Two Key Stats
1. Warriors hot streak continues
The Warriors’ 26-point victory over the Bulls was their seventh straight win as they move to 11-1 on the season.
As part of the winning streak, they’ve won every game by double digits with the lowest winning margin of 13 points. Coincidentally, the Dubs eight double-digit victories on the season are equal to that of the ’73-9 team’ through 12 games of the 2015-16 season.
2. Warriors lockdown defense
Much of Chicago’s improvement has come through the off-season acquisitions of DeRozan and Ball as free agents. Heading into the contest, DeRozan was averaging 26 points on 49% from the field, with Ball shooting 45% from three on nearly seven attempts per game.
Neither were a factor as they both struggled to get open looks against a swarming Warrior defense.
DeRozan shot just 4-13 from the field, getting himself to 18 points on the back of 9-10 from the line. Ball shot just 2-11 and 1-7 from deep, finishing the game with just five points, three rebounds, and three assists.
