Golden State Warriors player that deserves more minutes: Kevon Looney
When the Minnesota Timberwolves came to town, Kevon Looney put on quite the performance, and it could have been considered his best game as a Warrior.
Looney had a season-high 11 points and then a career-high 17 rebounds. Looney has only had a few career games where he had more than 11 points as well, typically just known as a solid perimeter defender and above-average perimeter defender.
While Looney’s minutes are inevitably going to decline when Wiseman returns, it’d be nice to see them hold steady as he’s certainly not on the court much as it is. Looney typically gets taken off when the small-ball second unit goes with Otto Porter Jr. and Draymond Green in the frontcourt.
Looney is averaging 5.8 points and a career-high 6.3 rebounds per game. He’s in under a quarter and a half per game though, so despite starting, Looney really doesn’t get much run, mainly due to his limited offensive upside.
He’s no star, but he’s played well for much of the season.
