Golden State Warrior that deserves more minutes: Juan Toscano-Anderson

Let’s continue to talk about the Warriors frontcourt. They’re deserving of attention. Juan Toscano-Anderson was given a place in the NBA by Golden State, and he’s not disappointed them.

Given his grit, JTA quickly became a fan favorite. At 6-foot-6, JTA is certainly undersized for the role he’s being asked to play, but he’s been that stretch-four and played it for Golden State at a high level.

JTA is averaging 4.5 points per game but is averaging a career-high 12.6 per 36 minutes. He’s shooting 46 percent from the field. After averaging over 20 minutes per game in both his first two seasons with the Dubs, JTA is under 14 per game this season.

Porter Jr. and Bjelica have dug into his minutes, and with their impressive play, JTA may struggle to get those minutes, especially given how well the Dubs can hide Bjelica’s inability to defend the perimeter at a high level.

JTA can do it all: shoot, rebound, defend and hustle. He deserves more minutes, but it’s not looking likely he’ll get them.
