Following an eight-game homestand in which they built a seven game win streak, the Warriors offense was inefficient and lacked potency down the stretch of the fourth quarter.

It was a close game throughout the entire contest, a three-point Hornet lead at the end of the first reduced to a tie ball game at the main interval.

The Golden State Warriors have suffered their second loss of the season, going down 106-102 to the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday evening.

The Warriors then led for a large portion of the second half, an incredible Stephen Curry buzzer beating three giving them a one-point lead turning into the final 12 minutes.

Following a massive night against the Timberwolves earlier in the week, Andrew Wiggins was the only real Warrior to get it going offensively. His 28-point outburst came on an efficient 12-for-19 from the floor, with Curry adding 10 assists to 24 points in his double-double performance.

Both teams struggled in the final stanza, combining for a total of just 33 points.

Unfortunately for the Warriors, the Hornets managed to take their opportunities at a slightly better rate. A Draymond Green dunk tied the game with 44.7 seconds remaining, before Miles Bridges gave the Hornets back the lead soon after their timeout.

The Warriors were again given the chance to tie the game, but Kevon Looney’s trip to the line netted two missed free throws.

They were provided one more opportunity with a jump ball between Green and Terry Rozier that was ultimately won by the smaller point guard, who then went to the line and sealed the Warriors fate.
