Golden State Warriors: Two things we learned

1. Kuminga builds consistency

Although it may have been a disappointing result for Warriors fans, there’s no doubt they would have again found excitement in the play of Jonathan Kuminga.

The rookie was everywhere in the second quarter, scoring nine points on a series of fastbreak finds from Curry and a couple of crafty finishes around the rim.

He finished with those nine points, five rebounds, two steals and a block in just under 10 minutes of action. More impressively, he was +11 in plus/minus differential, good for second on the team behind Curry.

2. Bench needs to prove it on the road

It’s one thing for your role players to play well in front of an adoring home crowd, but it’s another thing for them to play well in opposing stadiums. Much of the Warriors success can be attributed to the bench’s contributions this season, however outside of Kuminga, there wasn’t much to be shown in this game.

Andre Iguodala, Otto Porter Jr, Damion Lee and Nemanja Bjelica have all played integral roles thus far, but they combined for just 2-17 from the floor against the Hornets.
