Kevin Durant’s shoulder injury

Would you really be watching anything else? Kevin Durant’s meeting with his former team is by far the most entertaining aspect of this matchup but will his lingering shoulder injury have any impact on the outcome?

Durant suffered a “tweak” in his shoulder recently and could be seen nurturing it during his game against his other ex, the Oklahoma City Thunder. Despite a sore shoulder, Durant lit up Chesapeake Arena for old times sake with 34 points on 9-of-17 shooting.

Few players have been as prolific on offense this season. Durant is leading the NBA in scoring, averaging 29.6 points on nearly 60 percent shooting. Right behind him is Stephen Curry, scoring 28.1.

It is fitting both Curry and Durant were named NBA Players of the Week heading into this matchup. The two won back-to-back championships last decade and now they will go toe-to-toe as leaders of their own contenders.
