Golden State Warriors v Cleveland Cavaliers: Two Key Stats

1. Zero Minutes

That’s how much floortime Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole saw in the fourth quarter. That’s not so much about them, but more about the depth of this team and the options Steve Kerr has at his disposal.

Wiggins and Poole combined for 1-10 from three and just 20 points. As arguably two of the Warriors’ best four players, it makes it even more astonishing that without them, they were able to come back and outscore a team by 28 in a single quarter.

2. Role players find form

After a blistering start to the season, Nemanja Bjelica and Damion Lee had cooled over recent games. Bjelica had scored just eight points over the last three games, whilst Lee had scored in double figures just once in his last five games, following a stretch where he scored 10+ in the first six games of the season.

Bjelica kept the Warriors in the contest with 14 first half points, also being a key contributor to the Warriors’ run early in the fourth quarter. Lee had 11 points, with nine of them coming in the final 9:04. The two combined as Bjelica’s kick out to Lee led to an important three to put the Warriors up four halfway through the period.
