Why Golden State Warriors are hot: Top-to-bottom talent

As the Nets are figuring out, it’s not necessarily about the next few players up right after a superstar. Brooklyn’s James Harden is more talented than the Warriors’ second-best player, but the Dubs’ depth is far greater.

In their 18-point victory, it proved to be true. Gary Payton II stepped up in a big way in that game, trying to dunk on Durant. He’s been huge this season, averaging 6.1 points per game. He averaged the fourth-most on the team per 36 minutes.

That said, on top of Payton, Damion Lee is having a career year as is Jordan Poole and Kevon Looney. All three, along with Andre Iguodala, have created a depth factor that’s been undeniably important in the Warriors dominance.

Their bench, which obviously Looney and Poole aren’t a part of, is averaigng the seventh moosot points per game. They’re also top ten in field goal percentage and three-pointers made per game.
