Golden State Warriors player earning more minutes: Juan Toscano-Anderson

After being booted from the rotation following an 0-for-2 shooting performance against Minnesota a few weeks ago, JTA has been struggling to find consistent minutes behind Green at the four.

Given his size and energy, JTA is usually used best a premier stretch four, and he proved last season that he could do that as an elite level, ending the season shooting over 40 percent from downtown.

This season, that success, amid several new faces like Otto Porter Jr., hasn’t been replicated. However, on Friday against Detroit, despite his poor shooting, JTA was able to breakthrough with his all-around playmaking.

He ended the night with 37 minutes and 9 assists, a Green-like performance.

Prior to the Cavaliers game, JTA has amassed under ten minutes the team’s previous three games. This showing may have given Kerr what he needed to give JTA more freedom on the second unit, especially if any offensive player misses time.
