Golden State Warriors player earning more minutes: Moses Moody

The next player up on our list is the team’s second rookie, Moses Moody. Moody was taken out of Arkansas with the last pick in the lottery.

While Moody also wasn’t expected to play a huge factor throughout the season, he’s been playing solid basketball. Moody’s length at 6-foot-5 with a 7-foot-1 wingspan helps justify his use, especially on the defensive end.

Moody played 8 minutes against Detroit, scoring just four points and also snagging two boards. He’s averaging just 1.6 points per game and shooting under 35 percent from the field.

While the sample size is small, Moody has just a 98.4 defensive rating which is below the team’s average rating. That’s where he’s going to make his living until he can comfortably get to the bucket.

Getting Moody more minutes may not be easy and there will be certainly many reasons that justify sending him to the G-League to dominant in Santa Cruz; however, Kerr could use a defender with his length, and he’s proven to be effective in limited minutes.
