Superstar power

You can have all of the quality role players as you want — if the team is not being led by superstars, your ceiling in the NBA is limited.

Fortunately, the Golden State Warriors have a healthy dose of star power on the roster. While Klay Thompson has yet to even appear and young names like Jordan Poole, Moses Moody, James Wiseman and Jonathan Kuminga can all become stars in the future, the duo of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green has been enough to propel the Dubs to invincibility?

Stop me if you have heard this before: Curry is leading the MVP race while Green is the favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year. The former MVP is posting 29.5 points and 6.5 assists per game in one of his most complete seasons to date so far while Green has led the Warriors to the best defensive rating in the NBA.

Drilling an average of 5.7 3-pointers per game, Curry is on pace to obliterate the single-season 3-point record. At this rate, Curry will finish the season with roughly 467 total 3-pointers in comparison to the 402 he hit in his record-breaking 2015-16 campaign.

As for Green, he is not only anchoring the best defense in the league but he is scoring at the most efficient rate of his career in the paint. Together, these two have pushed the Warriors well above their pre-season expectations.
