Supreme spacing

The Golden State Warriors know a thing or two about spacing the floor. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are almost solely responsible for shaping modern basketball and though they were not the first team to prioritize 3-point shooting, they did popularize it.

Though, I would like to point out the Dubs almost always remained one of the best mid-range scoring teams in the NBA during their dynasty run. Eliminating the mid-range shot was one of many mistakes made by copycats such as the Houston Rockets.

Anyways, Klay Thompson’s arrival will once again give the Warriors the best 3-point shooting backcourt in league history. There is not a better catch-and-shoot player alive today and Thompson’s presence is going to stretch an already properly spaced floor for Golden State.

The Dubs lead the NBA in 3-point shooting at 14.8 makes per game. While this is not a league record, it is a franchise record. Adding Thompson to this mix is like tossing a canister of gasoline on a bonfire.

In a season where Stephen Curry has been as strong as ever getting into the paint, and names like Andrew Wiggins and Jonathan Kuminga are excelling as slashers, the addition of another sharpshooter is going to make life that much easier for the Dubs.
