Pushing Jordan Poole to sixth man

Selected late in the 2019 NBA Draft, Jordan Poole was always supposed to be a streaky shooter the Golden State Warriors could deploy in the second unit. No one thought he would break out as a dynamic three-level scorer and playmaker but — here we are.

Klay Thompson’s return is almost certainly going to slide Poole into a sixth man role, eventually. This gives the Warriors the massive luxury of having one of the league’s best talents lead the second unit.

Golden State has already been staggering Poole and Curry to have one on the floor at all times. This will be even easier now and Thompson can almost guarantee he will have one of the two generals next to him for the entire game.

The second unit is going to have one hell of a punch with Poole in charge. He is averaging 17.5 points and 3.1 assists per game and while he has room to grow, this rotation is a bright one for the Warriors.
