Golden State Warriors player who has excelled: Jordan Poole

The third-year guard has stepped up in a big way this season. Poole’s been the reason Golden State has pulled away in many games and has oftentimes played the Klay Thompson role, a bridge for the team when Curry is on the bench.

Poole has increased his scoring almost 50% in each of his first three seasons, going from 8.8 points to 12 to now 18.4 points per game. He’s shooting a career-best 46% from the field as well which is impressive for a 6-foot-4 guard.

On top of that, Poole’s drastically improved his free-throw shooting. From the line, he’s gone from a 80% free-throw shooter to now a 93% one.

He’s also averaging a career-high in free-throw attempts. Poole has 3 30-point games this season. Poole was always expected to be a major contributor, but not many expected this type of step.

Poole has cemented himself, especially at just 22, as one of the cornerstones for Golden State.
