Stephen Curry praises “unbelievable” level of play from Seth
The Golden State Warriors are the most talented team in the NBA, but their last game prior to a nice Thanksgiving day off was not their best showing.
They went down as much as 19 before storming back and destroying the 76ers in the second half. They used a strong second-quarter run prior to half to cut into a 19-point deficit and then an absolutely dominant second half, which they outscored Philadelphia by 29.
Stephen Curry was, as is usual, asked about his brother Seth after the game. The two-time MVP had only praise for his younger sibling.
Steph barely edged Seth in the thing the two both do best, score. Seth had 24 points while Steph had 25, the top-two scorers of the game. This was a good game for Seth, who has shooting career-high and nearly historic splits.
Seth, with his play, has put the rest of the league on notice. Let’s just say, of all people, Steph has noticed, and he commented following the game on the “unbelievable” basketball that Seth has been playing recently.
"“That dude is playing unbelievable basketball, and it’s fun to watch. He’s continued to get better. He goes at his own pace, he’s so under control. … It’s impressive, the way that he’s playing, the way that he’s stepped into his own identity in this league as a scorer and playmaker,” Curry said via NBC Sports following the team’s victory."
Seth is currently on pace to do something Steph has done just once in his life. Seth is averaging 50.3% from the field, 93% from the free-throw line and 41% from the three-point line.
It’s been a terrific start to the season. While there are many other facts into the Sixers success, Seth has, at the very least, helped keep them competitive with MVP-finalist Joel Embiid out of the lineup.
Making his debut win 2014, Curry wasn’t always supposed to be this good. He’s stuck around in the NBA and has become one of the best three-point shooters in the league. Sadly, it’s sometimes overlooked by how terrific his brother, Steph, has been.
That said, both are likely to continue playing at a high level for the next several seasons, and hopefully, fans are treated by an NBA Finals that features the two brothers.
