3 Golden State Warriors most impacted by a Klay Thompson return
The Golden State Warriors are likely going to get their five-time All-Star guard Klay Thompson back at the end of the year. For months, it had seemed likely that Christmas was going to be Klay’s first court time since the 2019.
In the 2019 NBA Finals, Thompson sustained his first of two season-ending injuries.
The Golden State Warriors assigned Klay Thompson to their G-League affiliate. Here are 3 players that’ll be impacted upon his return to play.
His attempted dunk on then Raptors guard Danny Green ended with Thompson tearing his ACL. His second came while rehabbing to get back onto the court for the 2020-2021 season. Thompson tore his Achilles.
With that in mind, Thompson’s return is slated for a game against the Phoenix Suns, in Arizona. Both teams are currently sitting atop the West with the Warriors No. 1 at 18-2 and the Suns No. 2 at 17-3.
While everything is currently going very well for Golden State, upon Thompson’s return, things are bound to change, hopefully for the better. With any other body in the rotation, some players will be impacted with less time or a changed role.
Let’s dive into three of them that’ll see a changed role when Thompson takes the court.
