Warriors plagued by turnovers, poor shooting in loss to Suns
Golden State Warriors v Phoenix Suns: Two Key Facts
1. Curry’s shooting woes
Curry finished 4-21 from the field and 3-14 from downtown. His 19% field goal percentage was the worst of his career when taking over 20 shots in a single game. It wasn’t just the fact the two-time MVP was missing shots, it was the fact he was missing them easily, including a number of uncharacteristic airballs.
There is no doubt Bridges did a fantastic job, but it’s hard to gauge how much impact he truly had given it’s a sample size of one game. Although there was a lot of quality defense on show, the MVP favorite also missed a number of fairly open ones he’d usually expect to make.
2. 43 games
That’s the number of 100+ scores the Warriors had produced in a row, a streak broken by their lackluster offensive display against the Suns. With Curry struggling as he did, and the team shooting just 41.9% as a whole along with 22 turnovers, it’s no surprise the Warriors didn’t crack triple figures nor a score capable of winning the game.
