Golden State Warriors: 3 Flaws that need to be addressed
By Tony Pesta
Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers
When you play the game of basketball the way Golden State does, turnovers are inevitable. The ball is constantly flying around the court as each member of the offense stays in a free-flowing motion that sometimes can’t be predicted even by the Warriors themselves.
Add a bit of the occasional razzle-dazzle from Stephen Curry, Jordan Poole or Draymond Green and it makes sense the Dubs would commit some unforced errors now and again.
At 16.4 turnovers per game, only the Houston Rockets cough the ball up more than Golden State. The Warriors turned the ball over 17 times in their loss to the Charlotte Hornets and 22 times in each of their losses to Phoenix and Memphis.
Some of this is natural, as previously stated. A high-paced game that generates the most assists and the second-most points in the league is going to come with some cost. Overall, the Dubs are a net positive in this regard.
Even so, it is their careless turnovers that come back to bite them in losses. Rushed decisions and miscommunication led to some of their biggest landslides against the Suns and will continue to put the Warriors in tough positions throughout the season.
