Golden State Warriors trade target: Cory Joseph
The Detroit Pistons are one of the worst teams in the NBA.
Before the Oklahoma City Thunder were awarded the honor, the Pistons were the worst shooting team in the NBA. Their true shooting percentage was atrocious. Their inability to win games should make the bulk of their veterans.
Joseph should be one of them that’s available either in a trade or via a buyout. In 21.7 minutes per game, Joseph is averaging just over 6 points per game. Joseph played a key role for the Spurs back in the day, so he has that championship pedigree to his name.
That helps with his composure. He’s nearing two quarters per game for Detroit, and he’s averaging 1.4 turnovers per game. On a more steady offense, his steady contributions could be useful. He’s shooting 44% from the field which, for a guard, is certainly around average.
Joseph would fit in well for the Warriors’ second unit, and even when Thompson returns, a backup point guard should be a glaring need, unless the Warriors opt to use Poole as the main point guard for the second unit.
