Golden State Warriors trade target: D.J. Augustin
If you’re starting to catch the trend, the Golden State Warriors could use a point guard. They have Curry, obviously, he’s always going to be the starter. When it’s Draymond Green without Curry or Poole without either, it’s felt like turnover palooza for the Warriors.
D.J. Augustin shouldn’t be targeted quite as much as a player like McConnell, but he would still be a welcome addition. Augustin is a veteran, originally a top-ten pick out of Texas.
Augustin, this season, is averaging 3.7 points per game and shooting under 40% from the field. Clearly, he hasn’t shown as much as fans would’ve liked, but his composure and availability just make sense.
In his career, he makes 38% of his threes which should help the Warriors floor spacing. Augustin has 20 turnovers in 210 minutes so far this season. On an ultra-young Rockets team, he hasn’t been given much run.
Other players should be taken a look at before Augustin, but he’s a strong backup option that does make sense and would be a cheap trade.
