The Golden State Warriors are No. 1 in the Western Conference once again, handing the Phoenix Suns their fourth loss of the season in a dominant showing for the home side. It makes it even sweeter for Golden State knowing they were able to get this big-time win at the Chase Center.

The Suns were without Devin Booker which is important. However, the Warriors are still down both second-year center  James Wiseman and five-time All-Star guard Klay Thompson, so the next time these two teams take on the court, December 25, things may look far different.

The Golden State Warriors took down the Phoenix Suns at home, and they’re now, once again, in the top spot of the highly-competitive Western Conference.

For now, though, the Warriors are a notch above the league and are the only team without four losses. They’re sitting at 19-3. The Dubs ended up winning the game 118-96, winning the second half by 19.

Throughout the season, the third quarter has been a strength for the Warriors, and they were able to again raise their competitive edge and thrash their opponent. While it’s obvious the Suns were tired after playing Wednesday, in the NBA, that can never be an excuse.

Deandre Ayton led the way for Phoenix, and his ability to defend perimeter while also abusing teams offensively is a huge plus for the Suns. They’ll be an absolute force in the West when Booker returns.

However, the Warriors showed their might, putting a halt to the Suns league-high 18 straight wins.

The Dubs did their best work behind great performances from multiple players on their bench along with 23 from Stephen Curry. After shooting 3-for-14 from deep against the Suns on Tuesday, Curry needed this performance to help get him back on track.

The Warriors bench outscored the Suns by 17. That was the difference in the game. For Golden State, their second unit has been a huge strength for them all season long.

The depth they’ve shown is a testament to how well they’ve built this roster. Even without Andre Iguodala, they were able to get big-time contributions from Juan Toscano-Anderson and Gary Payton II.

That said, the Warriors are now the No. 1 seed with the Suns at No. 2. The Jazz, Grizzlies, and Mavs round out the top five respectively and are all a couple of games behind the Warriors and Suns.
