Since the first few weeks of the season, it’s been made clear that the Golden State Warriors are title contenders. Prior to the season’s commencement, not many knew what Warriors team was going to show up.

Golden State missed the playoffs last season, and while no one was doubting the excellence of two-time MVP Stephen Curry, the extent of how much Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins would improve was unknown.

The Golden State Warriors major need right now is for a backup point guard, and there are some great, cheap options in the trade market.

Both players have drastically improved on their numbers from a season ago. On top of those two, Kevon Looney has stepped up. With the return of Klay Thompson and James Wiseman still on deck, the Warriors have the tools to make a title run.

However, even with those two in the lineup, they still lack a backup point guard. The role is somewhat taken over by Andre Iguodala, who distributes like a point guard. He’s out with an injury, and it’s clear the second unit is missing him.

Having a true backup point guard could provide the Warriors with the necessary depth an 82-game season takes. With that in mind, there are players out there that would be extremely cheap yet impactful additions.

Let’s dive into four of them.
