Why the Golden State Warriors shouldn’t trade with Pacers: The value isn’t right

The Golden State Warriors are one of the most asset-heavy teams in the league. With three future Hall of Famers, had they collapsed into some type of rebuild, they could’ve added a plethora of first-round picks.

On the other end, they have several top-tier prospects that could attract talent the best talent from some of the most up-and-coming teams in the league. Players like Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, and Jordan Poole could both command quite a return.

However, there is no chance the Warriors are going to trade Kuminga for a player they don’t necessarily need.

With Duarte already older, the Pacers will likely be looking for multiple prospects instead of several first-round picks. If they can get the right prospects and then sign a star, Indiana may have a chance at a quick rebuild.

For Golden State, it’s about bang-or-bust with a trade, and neither of the three Pacers is a bang that’s going to make the Warriors a drastically better team. Given their cost, it’s unlikely it makes sense for either side.
