2. Timely veteran performances
Over the last two seasons, the Golden State Warriors have been missing something that is vitally important to any team’s success.
Timely veteran performances are everything in this league.
Well, timely performances from anyone on the bench are a must for competitive teams. However, veterans tend to be more consistent in this department.
Look back at the 2019-20 roster and tell me who was supposed to fill this role for Golden State. Brad Wanamaker?
Now, the Warriors have names like Nemanja Bjelica, a floor-spacing big who can facilitate anywhere on the floor. And, a 3-and-D sniper in Otto Porter, who is shooting 42.7 percent from deep this season.
Andre Iguodala is still a savvy defender whose knowledge of the Warriors’ offense makes him a key component to their success. Though, he has been sidelined since mid-November.
Last season, the Dubs were 3-5 when Curry scored fewer than 20 points. Now? That record is 3-1, with a 40+ point victory against New Orleans.
Having experienced players on this roster has made all the difference in their ability to compete each night.
